Effective Muscle Relief Made Easy

Through a daily self-massage ritual, you can keep more of your energy and focus, to have a more productive day.

It all started with Mostafa - he had been rock climbing at gym when he decided to do something about his angry forearms that were yelling at him. His usual method of relief involved massaging (digging) his thumbs and elbows into his arms. But, this would only relieve some of the tightness, tire out his hands even more and put him in awkward positions to get the spots that needed attention.

A night after Mostafa had been climbing, he came up with an idea for a simple tool - two golf balls taped together. It was small enough to fit in his hands, something he could travel with and not wear out, and a shape that is muscle-friendly to target other muscle groups. This was the starting of what would lead us to prototype dozens of designs...

On the day we came back to my house after a climbing session, we decided to have a rolling party. The Yoga Tune Up® balls were my favourite to use up until that point, yet they were too soft for what I was looking for. It was obvious I needed something else, something that fit better in my hands and a shape I could manipulate around my muscles.

At that moment Mostafa brought out his new tool and asked me if I wanted to use it... Umm, yeah! Anything to help release my cemented arms. It immediately gave me the relief I was looking for! Plus, my tight muscles were being released quicker, with less effort. The result felt almost like my arms were lighter. In addition to that, I was regaining more range of motion in my arms, hands and wrists. These golf balls and I became instant buddies, yet they still needed improvement and another material that could go the distance.

Since then, we've tested dozens of prototypes.

Only two of our favourite sizes and shapes made the cut. thePnut was chosen because of its size, it is comfortable to hold in your hands and is extremely nimble when being used for manual massage work. Specifically, for muscle groups like our feet, hands, arms, shoulders and neck. The pointed end of The Pnut has two uses, it allows you to reach deep knots that are buried in your muscles, and it's great to target acupressure points to unblock energy. It also became our favourite tool to use while travelling. The Pnut XL filled the gap for all the other major muscle groups that The Pnut was too small to serve. The XL is fantastic for your back, glutes and entire leg. While also being a great tool for relaxation (resting behind your neck, when laying down) and posture (placed behind your back for lumbar support when sitting in a chair) .
